Grades 2-5 can be set up in Type to Learn.
Your ITF sets up your Homeroom class at the beginning of the year. You'll add/delete students as changes are made.
Reports and Settings: The TTL program will print out some very useful class and individual reports for teacher use. In order to get to the reports you must be in the teacher mode. (Holding down the Alt, Ctrl, and the T keys will get you into the teacher mode.) You can view on screen or print out class reports like the one below or you can view/print individual reports. You can also change the settings for a class or individual students while in the teacher mode of the program. ·The wpm speed goal; the default is 10 and the range is 1 to 60 ·The accuracy goal; the default is 80% and the range is 50% to 99% ·Whether goals automatically adjust based on the student’s performance. With automatic goal adjustment, speed and/or accuracy goals increase by 2 when a student does well, or decrease by 2 when a student has difficulty ·Whether there is an automatic review of past keystrokes if the student makes errors on past keystrokes, and how many errors trigger the review; the range is 5 to 20 ·The size of the text on the lesson screen (large, small, or mixed) ·The vocabulary level (primary or advanced). There are 21 primary vocabulary lessons and 22 advanced vocabulary lessons ·The current lesson number. This allows you to select a specific lesson for the students ·The length of interval between game breaks (2 to 15 minutes with 5 being the default) ·Setting a password if you like The chart lists the students, the scores for the last completed lessons, scores in the Games and Warpspeed sections, and whether or not students have used Notepad. In order to print reports or customize the program, all students must be out of the program at this time. I suggest you do this before or after school.
